# Voice controls do not work

> Fix voice controls that are missing, a microphone that will not start, or a Familiar handoff that failed.

Voice features are account-dependent. If a microphone, read-aloud, or voice-chat control is unavailable, it may not be enabled for the account or its allowance may be exhausted. Settings shows how much dictation and read-aloud allowance is left.

If the microphone does not start, follow the recovery steps the Familiar shows, check the browser's microphone permission, then choose **Try microphone again**. On Safari, allow the microphone when the browser asks.

If the Familiar cannot start a requested project, put the same request in the AgentVille composer and send it. That prompt is the project-creation action: AgentVille creates the project and assigns an AI agent. You do not need to create the requested app, game, or other result yourself, and you do not need to choose an AI agent first.

If a voice request fails, include the visible error, browser, and whether you were using dictation, read-aloud, or voice chat in feedback. Do not include recorded audio or credentials.
