# A recurring task did not run

> Why a recurring task paused, waited, or skipped a run, and how to get it going again.

Open the project and find its **Recurring tasks** section.

* **Paused**: choose **Resume** when you are ready for future runs.
* **Needs you after repeated failures**: a recurring task that fails three times in a row pauses itself and appears as needing you. Review the most recent project activity, correct the prompt, connection, or approval issue, then resume it.
* **Waiting for approval**: with **Ask first** permissions, a run stops at an action that needs approval. Answer it from **Needs you**.
* **Scheduled**: compare the displayed next run with the cadence and your local time zone.
* **Runs with a computer that is offline**: a recurring task that runs with Codex or Claude Code needs that computer and folder online. It does not fall back to the Cloud agent. Reconnect the computer, or choose **Edit** to move it.
* **Cannot create or resume**: AgentVille supports up to five active recurring tasks. Pause or remove one before starting another.

Schedules run at most once per hour. For a custom schedule, use five cron fields and a fixed minute from `0` to `59`; schedules such as `*/5 * * * *` are intentionally rejected.
